The Treatment Plan for the patient is extremely critical. It must meet specific criteria to qualify for Medicare and most insurance programs. The Treatment Plan window (figure 1) has many options that are easy to use and are needed to meet the required criteria.

When the
patient account is open the Treatment Plan window is accessed by clicking on
the 
Plan icon in the Button Bar at the left. On each visit
the system displays the entries that had been made on the previous visit. In the
event that no change has taken place in the Plan since the prior visit, there is
no need to make any entry. When the SOAP note is generated, the system will use
the prior visit data as part of the current SOAP note. If there is a need to
change the Plan on the current visit, only those
items that are different need to be changed.
